ChatGPT & Generative AI for Data Analytics

Overview

As data professionals in the age of AI, we now have access to tools that give us superpowers to work smarter and faster than ever before. In this course we’ll introduce you to the world of deep learning and generative AI, explore the rapid rise of large language models like ChatGPT and Gemini, and get you up and running with free tools that will take your skills and productivity to the next level.

We’ll dive into the art of prompt engineering, review tips and best practices for generating consistent, accurate model outputs, and address common limitations and pitfalls to be aware of. From there, we’ll walk through some of the most powerful and practical ChatGPT use cases for data science and analytics, with instructor-led demos in Excel, Google Sheets, Power BI, SQL and Python.

You’ll practice using ChatGPT to explain and interpret code, generate formulas from scratch, diagnose and troubleshoot errors, optimize complex queries, automate manual tasks, and much more. This course is beginner-friendly, and designed for anyone who wants to leverage modern technology to work more efficiently, and make smarter, data-driven decisions.

Syllabus

• Intro to AI for Data Analytics
In this module we'll introduce the course curriculum, set expectations, and download the resources you'll need to follow along from home. We'll explore the AI landscape, introduce powerful and practical use cases for data professionals, and share prompt engineering tips and best practices to help you integrate generative AI into your daily workflow.
• ChatGPT for Excel
In this module we'll demonstrate how to leverage tools like ChatGPT with Excel, including generating and troubleshooting formulas, automating tasks, creating sample datasets, and more.
• ChatGPT for Google Sheets
In this module we'll demonstrate how to leverage tools like ChatGPT with Google Sheets, including generating formulas from sample data or descriptions, applying conditional formats, writing apps scripts, and more.
• ChatGPT for Power BI
In this module we'll demonstrate how to leverage tools like ChatGPT with Power BI, including formatting and commenting DAX and M code, explaining technical concepts, generating and troubleshooting measures, and more.
• ChatGPT for SQL
In this module we'll demonstrate how to leverage tools like ChatGPT with SQL, including commenting and optimizing code, debugging and troubleshooting, generating new queries and more.
• ChatGPT for Python
In this module we'll demonstrate how to leverage tools like ChatGPT with Python, including generating and commenting code, researching libraries, scraping web data, interpreting machine learning models and more.
