Overview

This Specialization combines three advanced, industry-aligned courses, Cyber Security:

Applied Cryptography, Cyber Security:

DevSecOps, and Cyber Security:

Security of AI, to provide a comprehensive pathway into the secure development and protection of next-generation systems. You’ll begin by mastering cryptographic principles and techniques, learning how to safeguard sensitive data at rest, in motion, and in use.

Next, you’ll explore DevSecOps, embedding security into every stage of the software development lifecycle, from design and coding through deployment, while automating controls in CI/CD pipelines and securing cloud-native environments. Finally, you’ll address one of the most pressing challenges of our time:

protecting artificial intelligence.

Through practical, hands-on learning, you’ll uncover how to defend AI models against adversarial attacks, data poisoning, and model theft, while ensuring robust and trustworthy outcomes. Developed by Macquarie University’s Cyber Skills Academy, ranked in the top 1% of universities globally and recognised as Australia’s leading cyber security school, this program blends academic rigor with real-world application.

By the end of the Specialization, you’ll be equipped with the skills to design, build, and manage secure systems that combine software, cryptography, and AI, positioning you at the forefront of modern cyber defence.
