This is the first of three courses in the Google Business Intelligence Certificate, designed to equip you with the skills required for entry-level BI roles. Business intelligence professionals enable organizations to access the right data, foster growth, and transform insights into actionable strategies. In this course, you will explore the integral role of BI professionals and the tools they employ in their daily tasks.

Through hands-on activities and real-world examples from Google BI experts, you’ll gain practical experience and develop essential business intelligence skills. This foundational course will help you:

  • Distinguish between business intelligence (BI) and data analysis
  • Understand the use of data in business processes and decision-making
  • Recognize the impact of BI professionals within organizations
  • Learn the benefits of BI tools, including data models, pipelines, data visualizations, and dashboards
  • Acquire, manipulate, and integrate data using core BI concepts
  • Select and define metrics relevant to project goals and stakeholder inquiries
  • Develop and execute a BI project, working with stakeholders to determine requirements, complete tasks, and provide insights that guide decisions

Completion of this certificate program will arm you with the skills needed to pursue various business intelligence roles. Note that a foundational understanding of analytical principles, skills, and tools as outlined in the Google Data Analytics Certificate is assumed.
