Discover the essential skills of identifying, designing, and developing analytical information systems, including Business Intelligence systems and Data Warehouses. By the end of this course, you will have the ability to:

  • Design Star or Snowflake schema diagrams using Multidimensional Design based on analytical business requirements and OLTP systems.
  • Construct a robust physical database system.
  • Master the process of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) to move data into a data warehouse.
  • Develop expertise in programming analytical queries using SQL with MySQL.
  • Perform predictive analysis using RapidMiner.
  • Efficiently load both relational and unstructured data into Hortonworks HDFS.
  • Execute Map-Reduce jobs for querying data on HDFS for analytical insights.

This course will primarily utilize the MySQL programming language.

Additionally, participants will need to download and use software such as Rapidminer, MYSQL, Excel, and the Hortonworks Hadoop framework. For those using Mac / IOS operating systems, it will be necessary to operate a virtual machine (VirtualBox, VMware).
