Overview

SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) is a flexible feature in SQL Server that supports scalable, high-performance extract, transform, and load (ETL) tasks. This course will teach you best practices for the design of an SSIS ETL solution.

Business intelligence solutions often require data sources to be transformed into dimensional model structures that are better suited for reporting and analysis than operational data structures. After the design of a dimensional model is complete, the next step is to design extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes.

In this course, Designing SSIS Integration Solutions, you’ll learn how to analyze, organize, and document requirements for an ETL solution to be implemented in SSIS. First, you’ll explore tools and techniques for translating business requirements into ETL requirements and ensure best practices are applied.

Next, you’ll discover how to design the data integration workflow for common ETL tasks in SSIS. Finally, you’ll learn about other best practices to incorporate into your SSIS packages for optimal performance and security.

When you’re finished with this course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge of SSIS design needed to successfully plan for the development of your own ETL solutions.
