Overview

"AI" technologies are increasingly powerful and ubiquitous parts of our lives, leaving us with important questions about how these technologies impact our lives, relationships, and the world. In this course we introduce you to the rich discussion surrounding the ethical, social, and practical impacts of "AI" technology.

To accomplish this we engage with seven morally significant topics:

explainability, autonomy, privacy, responsibility, fairness, sustainability, and the future of work. For each we will unpack their theoretical and philosophical aspects and explore their moral, practical, and social implications.

No past knowledge of philosophy or ethics is required for this introduction.
