5G & 6G Technologies:

Design QoS Slices & 6G Handover Flows is an intermediate-to-advanced course for network engineers and architects who need to evaluate mobile network performance and design future-ready mobility workflows. As 5G networks rely on network slicing and 6G research introduces AI-enhanced mobility, engineers must move beyond configuration to strengthen evaluation and design skills.

In two focused lessons, learners simulate a 5G network slicing environment to measure latency across slices and assess whether QoS differentiation is achieved under load. Learners document findings to explain performance implications for current and emerging services.

The course then shifts to forward-looking design, guiding learners to model a 6G AI-assisted handover process across multiple frequency bands using a clear sequence diagram. Through Coach-led reflections, technical videos, simulations, and design exercises, learners build practical skills in performance evaluation and architectural communication.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to validate 5G slice behavior using measured data and design a 6G handover flow aligned with stakeholder requirements.

  • Hello and welcome! This content was developed by Bergson Cardiff Laguerre, a highly qualified data engineer, and will be presented by Carlton Fludd, who will walk you through it. In this module, you will simulate a 5G network slicing scenario and evaluate whether QoS differentiation is actually achieved across slices. You will analyze latency measurements under controlled conditions, interpret performance differences, and document findings that explain how slicing behavior impacts service quality. By the end of the module, you will be able to evaluate slice performance using measured data rather than configuration assumptions.
  • Design a 6G AI-Enhanced Handover Flow
  • In this module, you will design a forward-looking 6G handover process that incorporates AI-assisted decision-making across multiple frequency bands. You will translate technical requirements into a clear sequence diagram, aligning signaling flows, decision points, and stakeholders. By the end of the module, you will be able to create a handover sequence diagram suitable for cross-team and steering committee review.
