Overview

UAV in Engineering Applications (English)

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) or drones are increasingly utilized across diverse fields such as agriculture, society, defense, military, marine, and many other real-world applications. Equipped with various payloads and sensors, UAVs can even facilitate the transportation of medical kits.

With the evolution of drone technology, UAVs now boast integrations with machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms, offering on-board processing capabilities that enable precise mapping of natural features, reconnaissance, and border surveillance. This course provides a comprehensive insight into the fundamental design aspects of UAVs, covering both flapping and rotary wing types.

You will explore the performance characteristics and diverse engineering applications of UAVs through illuminating case studies. Real-world experiences include the deployment of UAVs for bridge inspections, heritage structure analysis, remote water body monitoring, environmental assessments, and 3D mapping using SWARM technology.

Additionally, this course delves into the rules and regulations set forth by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), innovative payloads, and future engineering applications of UAVs.
